WHAT IS A CHAPLAIN?
A chaplain, in short, is a spiritual caregiver.
Chaplains are trained to attend to the spiritual needs of people in the same way a religious leader/ pastor would, usually outside of churches or religious establishments.
In South Africa, you will usually find chaplains in the military, in police departments and in correctional facilities. They are usually responsible for counseling, providing prayers and attending to any other spiritual care needs for individuals in those institutions.

What We Do
01.
— Spirituality in Palliative Care
Palliative care aims to deal holistically with physical, social, psychological and spiritual needs. Integration of spirituality may buffer the emotional stress patients and families face when dealing with serious illness and the spiritual support is there to promote the quality of life for patients
02.
— Victim Empowerment & Support
This is an approach that aims to provide victim empowerment and support to all those who have suffered harm, trauma and/or material loss through violence, crime or socio-economic conditions. Empowerment takes place by changing the thinking process – from victim to survivor and helping people deal with the consequences of the event, to move on and suffer no further loss.
03.
— Counselling
Having a well trained, seasoned Chaplain on a traumatic scene, immediately establishes the way for a victim to eventually recover by building a bridge of trust between the victim and humanity and or the system, in general.
